scam
...ok almost.

You see, you remember the Fashionista Bazaar that I was all hyped about few weeks back at Far East Plaza? It got pushed forward and was eventually cancelled due to some lame reason that Far East Plaza suddenly rejected this event. It was total bullcrap to us, and that was all I thought it was.

Then Bazaar Indulgence (BI) contacted all the vendors again and said that to make it up to us, they have arranged for another bazaar on 20 & 21 Feb. Being the skeptical one, I suggested to Kitty that either 1. refund us half the amount first, then pay the balance on the actual day, or 2. give us a $30 discount for the inconvenience caused.

However, we heard NOTHING from them. So Kitty being the more vocal one, bombarded them commenting their efficiency in requesting for more money (like rental of clothes rack, tables, etc) but nonchalance to replying about refunds or any other inquiries.

A week after, $160 was refunded. BUT $10 short! Again, Kitty bugged them again for the money to no avail. I tried slamming them on their FB account as well to forewarn others to avoid them all cause.

Little did I know... yesterday I received an influx of comments and concerns from vendors who were involved in this "bazaar" and werent as lucky as us. Then I realised....... we nearly got scammed.

You will see it here, here & here.

Update:
Kitty found another thread on the forum - a sms conversation with the potential scammer's husband who is with the police force. (wot a bitch! her husband's career is at stake because of her too) From there, I also realised that they were about to leave for a holiday (with our money!??!). Beware of couple - Jane Lim & Keith Chua.

Lesson learnt: Never ever ever trust these so-called organisers till you have done your background work on the organiser & the venue provider. Still, best to only pay 50% of the rent till the day your booth materialised.

This black sheep has caused so much pain and distrust in the community now that it will dampen the spirits of future budding entrepreneurs a chance to partake in bazaars in future.

It has been a well known fact on pushcart.sg forum that Jane Lim had been cheating the money of many poor vendors and smashing their dreams of their entrepreneurship. They had banned her and she got desperate and started to show up in different identities to "promote" her events.

In fact, she also conned her "partners" into this scam by collecting the stated rent from the various vendors and making them squeeze into one small stall instead of one to one booth. Then only pay half of the booth rent to her "partners". Such cheap skate thing to do.

Well, all I can say is if you love & respect yourself so cheaply, others will love you back the same way. Good luck to her husband and her karma.

Update: The event is now cancelled due to the rejection of the management at Far East Plaza and some non-organised organiser (pun-intended). I am so upset now!
